3 PC Keyboard Shortcuts That Everyone Should Know


What do you do when you just type a long word, counterrevolutionaries for example, to have changed your mind and decided to delete it?

Do you perhaps hit the 'Backspace' 22 times? Or move your cursor to highlight the whole word and delete it?

What if I tell you that there is a better way?

Well today, I am going to share with you 3 keyboard shortcuts that have change the way I work. It has cut down my editing time not only in Microsoft Word, but also to the times when I surf the internet or even when I rename a file. Read on to adopt this shortcuts in your workflow and boost your productivity.

1. Navigation—CTRL + <Arrow Key>
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words (I'll say, it's worth a billion USD now). So, let me demonstrate instead:



2. Delete Back Word—CTRL + Backspace
Back to our introduction example, if I were you, I would Ctrl + Backspace to delete the word counterrevolutionaries. Just like so:



3. Delete Word—CTRL + Delete
Sometimes, Ctrl + Backspace may not work in some applications or especially when you want to rename files. Then, use Ctrl + Delete instead:



Now, the next time you need to delete a word, remember to use these shortcuts—especially Ctrl + Backspace.
